1.祈使句用於說明事情或指點方向

Ex：Get into the basic position.
      Turn left at the light.

2.祈使句用於下命令或支配某事

Ex：Get up!
      Don't move!

3.祈使句用於請求（加上please會更有禮貌喔！）

Ex：Please read this article.
      Read this article,please.

4.祈使句用於給予建議

Ex：Always warm up first.
      Don't exercise when you're sick.

5.祈使句用於警告

Ex：Be careful!
      Don't swim!

6.祈使句用於公佈訊息

Ex：Work out with us tomorrow.
      Bring a friend.

要注意的是，正式場合不可以使用祈使句，比方說在對老闆或者老師說話的時候

Ex：Would you like to join us,Mr.Wang? (O)
      Join us,Mr.Wang. (X)

7.祈使句中，無論是對單數或復數，動詞形式永遠相同

Ex：John,point your toes.
      John and Susan,point your toes.
